In a pivotal move to diversify its gas sources and following prior negotiations with Turkmenistan to supply gas to Iraq, to meet the need of electricity production stations, the Minister of Electricity of Iraq Ziad Ali Fadil paid an official government visit to Turkmenistan at the head of a ministerial delegation, stated the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity’s information service.


In Ashgabat, the minister met with the Minister of State, Chairman of the State Concern “Turkmengaz” Maksat Babayev and other officials.

Dragon Oil Introduces Environmentally Friendly Hydrocarbon Production In Turkmenistan

Ali Rashid Al Jarwan, CEO of Dragon Oil, has announced the company's transition to zero gas flaring in Turkmenistan by 2027, making their hydrocarbon extraction work environmentally friendly, official Turkmen media reports.


"We currently use 70 percent of the gas we produce, but in three years, we hope to reach the 100 percent mark, making our hydrocarbon production work for Turkmenistan environmentally friendly," Ali Rashid Al Jarwan remarked.

Turkmenistan exported more than 22.73 thousand tons of AI-92 gasoline to Azerbaijan in January-August 2023, the Interfax-Azerbaijan news agency reported on Thursday with reference to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

The export of Turkmen gasoline to Azerbaijan for the corresponding period amounted to over $19.56 million.
